  2. POTAWATOMI SNOWMOBILE TRAIL-22 miles of trails developed by the Potawatomi Snowmobile Club north of Angola in Steuben County.

  3. HERITAGE SNOWMOBILE TRAIL-31 miles of trails developed by the Hoagland Blizzard Blazers Snowmobile Club around Hoagland and Maples in southeastern Allen County.

  4. BUFFALO RUN SNOWMOBILE TRAIL-70 miles of trails developed by the Michiana Trail Riders Coalition west of South Bend in St. Joseph County. www.michianatrailriderscoalition.com. Trail condition site: http://www.geocities.com/tsuddon/

  5. SALAMONIE TRAIL-22 miles of trails on public land along the south side of Salamonie Reservoir in Wabash and Huntington Counties. The trail is maintained by the Salamonie Trailmasters Snowmobile Club.

The snowmobile trails are open in December, January, February, and March when snow conditions are adequate. There are trailheads at each trail for parking vehicles and trailers, and information about motels, restaurants, and service stations near the trials can be obtained by contacting a local chamber of commerce or calling the Indiana Tourism Development Division at 800-289-6646. Information about Trail Conditions is available after the first good snowfall from the I.S.A. Hotline at 574-679-4006 (24 hours a day, updated as trail conditions change). Only registered snowmobiles may be used on the trails. The Department of Natural Resources' Snowmobile Program is completely funded by snowmobile registration fees; law enforcement activities, including the Snowmobile Safety Course, are also funded by the registration fees.
